PONY PALS 4-H CLUB

The Pony Pals 4-H Club focuses on developing the horse care skills of children 5 to 12 years of age.  We are a non-riding 4-H club, but each child will have an opportunity to learn how to groom and handle horses safely from the ground.  Only a few of our club members actually own horses, but that doesn't matter, there are some really nice people at Lakeview Stables that loan the club horses with which the children can interact.

Our main purpose is to learn about horses and what is involved in the daily care of owning a horse.  In the process we also learn to respect each other and work cooperatively, practice public speaking, and plan and develop projects.  Our members also have an opportunity to develop leadership skills by teaching a club activity and participating in 4-H competitions.

Each child will have the opportunity to complete a 4-H project.  Our main focus is the Horse Project, but there are many more from which to choose.  A completed project is...7 activities in your project book (provided upon joining), a demonstration or illustrated talk in front of the club, an exhibit and the 4-H project report or summary.  Please see the Project page for more information on completing a project.

The cost to join 4-H is $15 per year, payable to Pinellas County 4-H Foundation.  There are no monthly dues or additional fees to join Pony Pals.
